Portland, Oregon to Host TCI Tenth Anniversary Conference 2007


The Competitiveness Institute TCI has chosen Portland to host its tenth anniversary Conference Clusters2007. The conference is intended to bring cluster practitioners from around the world together to share best practices and discuss ways to spur economic developments through innovative cluster strategies. It will take place in Portland, Oregon, October 7-14th, 2007.

    Comments and proposals are also welcome by Terry Lawhead, with the Washington state Department of Community Trade and Economic Development.

    I attended the clusters2006 conferrence in Lyon and, with the state of Washington, will be co-hosting the 2007 event in Portland, Oregon.

    I particularly welcome inquires from professional economic developers and anyone assoicated with IEDC, the International Economic Development Counicl. This upcoming event will be an important recognition of the role of emerging and mature clusters and the importance of professional economic development practices to assist in furthering clusters in the United States and around the world.
